SEGMENT 1
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Students must be 14 years 8 months old by the first day of class. Please bring a copy of your birth certificate the first day of class.
2. Students must attend 24 hours of in class instruction usually held on 12 seperate days over three weeks, for two hours a day.
3. Students must drive for 6 hours, one hour per day, on 6 seperate days.
4. Students must observe other students driving for a minimum of four hours.
5. Students must pass the state test given during class with a score of 70% or better.
6. Students must pass a vision test, use of corrective lenses is ok, as long as the student drives with them also.

SPECIFIC COURSE PROVISIONS
Bays Driving School, LLC, will provide a minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind –the- wheel (BTW) instruction, and 4 hours of observation time in a dual controlled automobile, fully insured, covering each student enrolled in the program. Classroom instruction must be a minimum of three weeks in length. BTW instruction shall not begin until the student has received a minimum of 4 hours class instruction. BTW instruction must be completed no later than 3 weeks after the classroom instruction has been completed.
REQUIRED LANGUAGE
Notice-This provider is required to be certified by the Secretary of State. If you have any complaints, which you cannot settle with this provider, write Michigan Department of State, Driver Programs Division, Lansing, MI 48918. Completion of driver education instruction does not guarantee qualification for a driver license.
TERMS
*The student must be at least 14 years, 8 months of age by the first scheduled day of class (verification by birth certificate required).
*Requirements to pass the course: complete all 24 hours of class work, follow class rules, complete 6 hours of BTW, and 4 hours of observation.
*The required score to pass the STATE TEST is 70%. Up to two retakes are allowed, three total attempts.
*Two students must be present for all BTW instruction. In the event of a BTW driving appointment cancellation, when a student does not appear for a scheduled BTW appointment, that student will be charged a cancellation fee of $10. The other student scheduled to drive at the time will not be charged for the cancellation.
*In case of a student’s absence or emergency the schools policy is: contact the office and schedule a time for make-up. A student tardy for the second time will be counted as absent and will be sent home that day.
Make-up day policy is as follows: as scheduled by student and instructor within one week of final class, may not make up more than two classes.
*Payment methods allowed: cash, check, money order, and or credit card (credit cards will be charged an additional 3% processing fee).
REFUND POLICY
1. If for any reason you decide to withdraw from the course before it’s completition, your refund will be based on the following:
a: A full refund will be issued based on the following (student drops class before second week)
b: A partial refund will be issued based on the following (50%) refund if the student drops the class before the end of the second week, after the beginning of the third week no refund is available.
SEGMENT 2
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Student must have held a level 1 liscence for 3 months before the first day of class, and bring it to class the first day.
2. Students must attend 6 hours of in class instuction, usually held two hours a day for three days. There is no driving in Segment 2.
3. Students must pass the state test given during class with a score of 70% or better.
